At the edge of Begnas Lake, surrounded by rolling hills, clean air, and terraced fields, lies the heart of Bhurtel Organic Agro Farm. But this isn’t just a farm — it’s a vision in motion. A living example of how organic farming, community development, and eco-tourism can co-exist sustainably and profitably in Nepal.
Location: Where Nature Feeds the Vision
Our farm is based in Syankhudi, Begnas Lake, Pokhara — a region famous for its natural beauty and cultural richness. With pristine water sources, fertile soil, and year-round sunshine, the area is ideal for diverse organic farming.
The proximity to Pokhara, a major tourism hub, also opens doors to eco-tourism, farm stays, and agro-based learning experiences. It's not just a farm — it's a destination.
The Founder’s Vision
The farm’s founder, a nature-loving Nepali entrepreneur, started with a bold vision: to create a sustainable farming model that not only grows organic food but also revitalizes rural communities, attracts ethical investment, and educates the next generation.
What started as a modest banana and coffee plantation is now evolving into a multi-crop organic ecosystem — featuring fruits like jamun and strawberries, honey bees, fish, chickens, and seasonal vegetables.
Infrastructure in Place
- Terraced farming systems that prevent erosion and support biodiversity
- Natural water sources for irrigation and fish farming
- Beehives for organic honey and pollination
- Chicken coop and fish pond development underway
- Planning underway for eco-lodges, homestays, and a farm café
Looking Ahead: A Scalable Model for Rural Nepal
Bhurtel Organic Agro Farm is not just looking inward — we’re looking outward. The long-term plan includes:
- Establishing a community-supported agriculture (CSA) network
- Exporting value-added organic products (coffee, dried fruits, honey)
- Launching eco-tourism programs that bring urban travelers closer to nature
- Setting up workshops and youth training in sustainable agriculture
